Trekking Centre Events

We offer our own range of special events at the trekking centre, as well as being able to offer riding lessons and treks for corporate days, birthdays, and hen or stag parties.

Introduction to Dressage

Our BHS registered instructor, Karen, will teach you the basics of this Olympic discipline, progressing to the stage where riders can perform a competitive preliminary test.

Saddleless Riding Masterclass

The key to perfect balance – saddleless riding.  Join owner Lisa Gregory for a fun evening that will improve your riding.  This weekly saddleless session is for riders who are comfortable at walk, trot, and canter.

Polework Clinic

Polework – the key to rhythm, balance, and straightness.  Join instructor, Karen in our new clinic, using a variety of jumping and ground pole combinations to improve your riding.

Introduction to Jumping

Take your first leap to jumping on horseback, learning the basics in a controlled environment.  BHS registered instructor, Karen, will teach the correct jump position and stages of the jump.

Cross Country Clinic

Enjoy the thrills of cross-country jumping, learn to develop your seat in canter and positional work, whilst navigating natural obstacles and jumps at the centre.

After an initial assessment in the school, you will be coached by two instructors, one on horseback and one on the ground to maximise your learning potential.

Adult Beginners Group Lesson

It’s always good to get out and learn something new.  Here you will learn the basics of horse riding, mount & dismount, steering, walk, sitting trot, rising trot and canter.

Western Riding

Yee-haw!  Learn to be a cowboy.  Join our new Sunday clinic and try your hand at Western riding.  Are you going out on a Ranch holiday? Then why not learn with us first… or perhaps you simply want to experience the Western riding style.

Longdon Trail Ride

Two full days of riding in the glorious Cannock Chase countryside enjoying the company of old friends and meeting new ones.  A quiet country pub for lunch and comfortable farmhouse accommodation overnight with home cooked food and a full English breakfast.  Either a pub or a picnic lunch the next day as we make our way home. Experienced riders only.

Lichfield Sheriffs Ride

This historic 25-mile ride through the city of Lichfield, is an unforgettable day for experienced riders only.  You are booking a horse to be exclusively yours for the duration and will undertake stable management, grooming and presenting your horse. Riders need to be in show dress for one of the last ‘beating the bounds’ rides in the country. This is a long day so we have to be selective and there is a 13st weight limit.

A whole day riding in glorious countryside on one of our wonderful horses.  Leave workday stress behind and enjoy lunch in a gorgeous country pub before arriving back at the centre late afternoon.

Indian Summer Nights

Join us for a fabulous summer evening trek riding off road to our local Indian restaurant where the waiters will bring out our drinks and Indian tapas before heading back to the centre before sunset.

Children’s Events

Pony Club

Cannock Chase Trekking Centre pony club is perfect for anyone who has always dreamed of owning their own pony! This is a fun and exciting opportunity to get up close and personal with one of our ponies. Each session is different but will include a riding lesson and horse care. 

Wednesdays at 4:00 pm for 60 Minutes.

Magical Unicorns Experience

Weekly sessions of magical unicorns and glitter, spend the session turning your little pony into your dream unicorn.  Sessions include grooming, glittering, a riding session and a unicorn hot chocolate to finish!

Wednesdays at 5:15 pm for 60 Minutes.

My Little Pony Activity

Two-hour pony activity sessions include a riding lesson, grooming, plaiting manes as well as fun and games with ponies.  A small snack and drink are included.

Home on the Ranch

Spend the morning in the company of our ponies, donkey, bunnies and pygmy goats. Includes a paddock ride and a small snack and drink.
